Bring Home Scooter

This story is so sad and really makes me feel for the family involved. Scooter is a much loved Pug who has been stolen. His loving pug parents lost him before Christmas from a park. We’d like to believe that people are decent and would know how much this little guy would be missed but apparently the person who found him does not think this way. It was obvious that Scooter belonged to someone, he was tagged and had a collar on. To add to that, the collar had his address - so it would have been simple to send him home.

Unlikes most of us, the women who found Scooter decided he’d be the perfect Christmas gift for her daughter. Can you believe people! After a sad Christmas for Scooters parents, some remorse must have set in because the dog stealer decided to send a letter to the owners. This is what blows my mind. In the letter she tells them that she found hi, gave him as a present and that her daughter loves this dog. She had nothing else to give her for Chrismas so Scooter was perfect. She gave them $20 for him and basically admitted to taking him and that’s about it. The rightful owners are now out there seeking info to help find their dog. The owners, even through all of this, have offered as a reward to buy this little girl a new pug puppy if Scooter can come home.

The next time I am out with Maggie you can be sure I’ll have her on a leash. Just when you think people would make the right choice, life send something like this at you. Hold on to your dog people, tags and microchips won’t always bring them home…unfortunately.

Knock Knock - Can I come in?!

Ok, so I think of myself as a nice person. Easy going most of the time and all round s friendly girl..somehow I do not think thisd represented who I am last night. I’m sure everyone has enjoyed a relaxing evening at home, curled up on the couch watching tv right? And then, out of the blue, the door bell rings. It’s 8pm, who could it be? So I pull myself up and head to the door (because at our house it’s hard to hide!). I open the door and think “great, who’s this guy”.

So he starts (or shall I say mumbles)…”Hi, I’m from Ontario Energy Savings and I need to check if your hydro & gas rates are protected”. Protected? what does that mean, is there a problem, are we unprotected? I quickly become engaged with this guy who not only doesn’t want to leave but now asks if can come in? what? You want to come in? Are you kidding me! Needless to say we sent this boy packing with no signed agreements.

Personally, this door-to-door tactic is terrible. They catch you when you are at home, vunerable in your jammies, and all round unexpecting. It’s late, you are in the middle of something important (like my fav show on tv) and then leave you irritated and annoyed! All I can say is watch out cause this house won’t be signing up for anything!

Long time over due!

Happy New Year!

It’s a new year and our hiatus is now over. We are back up and running with our new computer.

Life has change a lot over the past few months and 2008 is shaping up to be just as exciting. Let’s first start by sharing that Darrin, Maggie and myself are all moved into our new home and can easily say, it’s nice to have a home again. Our little Mag-Pie has taken a huge liking to her new accomodations and can be seen through the front window perched up on “her” window seat at virtually anytime! She’ll appreciate any waves when you pass by!!

As for Darrin and I, well the move to Kingston proved not to be an easy transition from our happy home in TO, but life is back on track and 2008 should be exciting for us! Darrin, or should I say Chef, is enjoying he new role as the Executive Chef at the Best Western Fireside Inn here in Kingston. And me, well my transition to selling houses in Kingston has turned out to be the perfect choice but stay tuned! ;)

The house is starting to take shape!

So this week we got our foundation poured! With only the footings in we were a bit worried - the house looked so small! Now that the foundation is poured though it’s starting to look more like an actual house :)

We can’t wait till next week - the framing begins!

House Updates

Well its been only a month but the activity on our lot has been plentyful! We had to change our exterior colours too (apparently they were unsure about what brick we could pick - one of those stressful new home moments!).

Check out the pics below - our new exterior colours and the progress on the lot.Exterior SelectionsHoleGetting ready for the foundation!
